The bills that would have removed wolves from the Endangered Species Act have all been unsuccessful.
From bills that would have removed all protections for wolves across the country, to a bill that would have removed protections for wolves in Idaho and Montana but not elsewhere, none received enough support to make it to a vote of any kind. In the latest effort Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland blocked its progress to the Senate floor. There won’t be another chance until the next congress adjourns.
